This little man was a little older than the 14 day mark. Elian’s mama told me other newborn photographers flat out denied photographing him because he’s a bit older. Every baby is different. Even the newest baby won’t settle and sleep. There’s so much to it sometimes. Maybe you ate some cheese the night before and that passed through from the breast milk and hurts their stomach. Maybe your milk hasn’t fully come in and they are still hungry and fussy. Maybe they are cluster feeding (always happens on the 10 day mark). Maybe they were breech babies don’t love bending their legs. Maybe they want their hands by their face and nowhere else. It’s crazy how much personality these new little humans have and how particular they can be. But Elian was a little angel and I was so glad I agreed to capture his little face. They are only so little for so long.
