We got such a pretty evening for this session, the golden hour was perfect. We did Alonna and Greg’s gender reveal during the summer and they wanted to do some holiday photos as well. I loooove Alonna’s blue velvet maternity gown and Greg’s amazing suit. What you choose to wear really elevates the photos or makes them casual. They wanted holiday glam. We decided to decorate a tree to make the photos look a little more Christmasy. B for baby boy or for his first name? I don’t know but I’m excited to find out in just a couple months.
Okay, I know gender reveals have gotten a bad rap in the past years but hear me out – there was nothing that gave off a spark or any heat and Alonna brought a handheld vacuum. Nothing left behind. That’s the way it should be. Anyway, Alonna is an event planner and she planned this session so thoroughly I was so impressed. And intimidated. It was so great. We did the confetti bombs twice, had a cake, and little signs, and she brought her sonogram as well. The light at Cheesman was so perfect this day. I love these dreamy photos and I am so excited to photograph that baby boy this year.
Red Rocks is my new favorite place to shoot. I love the rocks as the backdrop and the tunnel is so cool. It is NOT easy to shoot with the tunnel, especially on a weekend. So. Much. Traffic. But, so worth it! And how cute is Kinsley with her dress? The best thing to ask a little girl to do is to twirl. And Kyler was more interested in running away haha. You do what you can with toddlers 🙂
This little man was a little older than the 14 day mark. Elian’s mama told me other newborn photographers flat out denied photographing him because he’s a bit older. Every baby is different. Even the newest baby won’t settle and sleep. There’s so much to it sometimes. Maybe you ate some cheese the night before and that passed through from the breast milk and hurts their stomach. Maybe your milk hasn’t fully come in and they are still hungry and fussy. Maybe they are cluster feeding (always happens on the 10 day mark). Maybe they were breech babies don’t love bending their legs. Maybe they want their hands by their face and nowhere else. It’s crazy how much personality these new little humans have and how particular they can be. But Elian was a little angel and I was so glad I agreed to capture his little face. They are only so little for so long.
Big sister is sooo excited to have a baby sister. She wanted to hold her and kiss her in every photo. It was so adorable. Scroll down to see those. And here are Briar’s newborn photos. She has the perfect little chubby cheeks and a sweet little face. Welcome to the world, sweet girl.
