Aaron turned one so him mama contacted me to take some adorable photos to celebrate and freeze this moment in time. You guys, more people need to dress their babies in suspenders. How cute is he?? His chubby cheeks and his red hair kill me. And his little cheesy smile? He was so perfect for our shoot. Happy 1st birthday, Aaron. You are so loved.
I look at these photos and remember how frigid it was outside. We took these December 2016 in Dillion, Colorado and up on Loveland Pass. The wind picked up and I think it was 3 degrees. It was downright COLD, but you can’t tell from the photos, can you? And you know what? I’d do it again in a heartbeat. This is Daylene. She’s a badass photographer that I have known for yearssss. I have helped her shoot weddings across the country and outside of it. We spent countless hours working together and I knew as soon as she found out she was preggo I would be the one to photograph her maternity photos. I remember the wedding where she told me she thought she might be pregnant, the wedding weekend in Telluride where she felt the first kicks, and I was there all the way through her last wedding in December (she gave birth in January). Women, they are strong and amazing. It was fun to be on her journey through pregnancy with her.
But let’s talk about that red dress from Sew Trendy and makeup by BW Beauty (the best, seriously) against the snowy Rocky Mountains. I love my state. I want to take more mountain maternity photos. So if you’re having a baby soon let’s go adventure!
How cute is this family?? I loved the kids so much. They are so sweet and so adorable. Clients stress about having the perfect photos of their growing families but capturing their personalities is more important for me. They are silly, sassy, sweet, loving, and volatile little people. Playing and snuggling. That’s how you get the sweet, fun photos.
Things to keep in mind when working with little kids –
1. They sometimes listen
2. They will do what they want
3. Best bet is to make them laugh or chase them around
4. You have to accept all the above and just go with the flow
Ezra turned 7 months and we had to get photos of his cuteness. That smile, his blue eyes, his baby bird hair. He’s just too cute. City Park’s trees were perfectly yellow for the shoot, too. What could be better?
